This is a crasher!!!!!
And of course diamonds is an all-time shiner! A brighter! A liker!
And used to perfection in this scene in Celine Sciamma's "Girlhood" which is otherwise in French. This is the point where she finally feels part of something.

Ugh. Katy Perry is such a transparently corporate product that it's painful to me. I feel the same way about One Republic.
Re: Deathless
still, that year had a lot of memorable music (for me) as opposed to other years. I don't listen to a lot of radio now, mostly podcasts and music that my kids like.

Happy is a clapalonger!
Pharell has a GOAT year in 2013, with generational hits from three different projects: Get Lucky, Happy, and ::cough:: Blurred Lines

Careful. Mike very much loves Iggy, even if she's getting a lot of heat for purported Blackfishing.

Re: Deathless
I like early Iggy the same way I like early Gwen Stefani. I don't begrudge either one their success or ability to use their art to make money however they choose, but I also don't like most of what came after they went mainstream.
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.

Re: Deathless
Verdict:
Kim Kardashian, yes. Sometimes.
Iggy Azalea, no, people just love to hate her, although I do think she is sorta copying her buddy Britney's "Work B****" (hopefully everyone has the proper context for that now) in her latest song, which is catchy.
Rita Ora, No, she just looks like that.
I don't know who else is accused.

Re: Deathless
I like her - early middle and recent - and the many problems she has generally aren't the ones people are talking about. I just don't think she deserves most of the hate she gets. Why aren't people talking about the fact that she is so insecure that she has destroyed her face through plastic surgery? That's disturbing and I don't think people do that when they're happy. [I'm very worried that certain members of BTS had plastic surgery because they were pushed into it early on.] I think she said she had a boob job, and I'm not going to second-guess people who are going through life with boobs they don't like, but it always saddens me when a woman feels like she has to do that. I can only guess at the amount of s*** she has been through in the last decade. Crap relationships, white women constantly coming at her with racism accusations even though she continues the many years of collaborating with black artists and hasn't changed. She doesn't have industry support the way other artists do yet she keeps pushing her songs and pushing her songs and half of them are pretty damn good. So yeah, I feel for her and enjoy her music when she comes up with a good one. I think she gets an unfair reputation and is better than this

Re: Deathless
Interestingly, there’s been some pretty damning condemnations of both for cultural appropriation. I find those accusations hard to defend for either of them.
