Purchased two identical pairs slippers. One for me, one a full size smaller for my middle child. The smaller ones fit better; the larger too tight. What is this life even?

Oh right. I remember that song. I associate it with a sketch on SNL, but I can’t remember which one.

For me this was a musical touchtone, and I can hear the influence on a lot my own stuff. Heart on your sleeve, capo on fret two. Better than most of the popular pop rock songs of the era.

I agree and love the Gin Blossoms stuff from a pop/fun perspective. There's a rabbit hole you can go down about how they fired Doug Hopkins (responsible for "Found Out About You" and "Hey Jealousy") and he later, in a depression, took his own life. The remaining band members took a lot of criticism for the way they treated him (I'm not sure it's all justified). But it's an interesting story to read.

Yeah. He’s pretty racist and conservative. Apparently in rehab he found Jesus in a big way and that’s informed a lot of his political politics. He released an “anti-lockdown” song. Pretty gross person altogether.

Every time I see one of his videos, I feel like he’s going to lean through the screen and knock me right out. Why would he do that? Didn’t his mama teach him better?

I love this album and its "young person" earnestness so much. It hit me when I was in the exact right stage and maturity in my life that I profoundly loved this album. Listening to it now, I realize the juvenile, sometimes silly self-importance that runs through every song. And yet, that's why I still love it. It encapsulates for me exactly how a young 20 year old Kyle felt about himself and how he could make a change in an imperfect world. Is it kind of dumb and starry-eyed? Absolutely- but that's a lot of people at that age. It's cool to be able to listen to this and recapture- or at least understand- what that mindset was like.

Hey some Grunge-adjacent material, though their pretty looks and lyrics probably disqualified them. This is an era where good songs become huge if they mention God.
