Brews at the Zoo

Post by Mike »

At the Lincoln Children's Zoo last night, they held an adults only event. For a $50 ticket, you get dinner, after hours access to the zoo, 3 drinks from a wide selection of locally crafted beers, ales, ciders, etc, plus an outdoor concert with a band that played 80's hits all night. It was friggin awesome!

We met Jacob and his wife there and had a great time. Got to feed giraffes (and pet them, right next to the big DO NOT TOUCH THE GIRAFFES sign). Five star. Would try again.
Any time the solution is "banjo rifle", I'm in 100%.

On Father's Day, I took the kids to the zoo. There's a big walk aorund outdoor area with a significant elephant exhibit. Right by there, is a food stand. The kids wanted pretzels, so they got those, and I, to my amazement that they had it, had a hard cider. It was the first drink I'd had in months. Oh man, it hit me a little harder than I was expecting. Let me tell you, it's a good thing I didn't have another, because I would have been really freaked out by the animatronic wyvern that was around the corner.

We're planning to invite more people next year.
