I see some BBCode boards allow the [Youtube] tag. Is this something that can be implemented or is it not implemented for security/asthetic reasons?

I haven't implemented anything like that, because I pulled these boards and this theme* directly off the shelf at phpBB. I've customize absolutely nothing except adding my logo to the top. Embedded YouTube videos would certainly be cool, and if I had some idiot-proof instructions on how to add that to my current code, I would be willing to try it.


*Can you imagine how thrilled I was to find a theme with all the compact options I wanted AND a primarily light-blue-with-orange-accents color scheme? On the old boards I spent hours figuring out where all the colors were connected so that I could customize every highlight and border and heading style. Bleah. Off the shelf rocks.

Do we need to reboot? Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete? Purge the cache? Cycle the IIS services?

I can't believe none of that worked.

After several attempts, I tried just adding a simple BB Code for the Invisibles. You hit the Invis button and the text changes to #F6F6F6. That didn't work either, and I know I had the formatting right. So there's something basic that I'm missing in order to enable these.

Or possibly, my setup doesn't allow custom BB Codes, but that seems weird. I'll keep working.

Apparently, I have to download an extension for phpBB that allows video to play, and then when that is enabled, I should be able to install the matching BBCode for YouTube.

I saw the talk of extensions but tge version I found was just embed code, huh, too simple to be simple i guess.

Figure out why the "invisible" code didn't work?

I did notice early this morning that the site was not loading correctly, so maybe that's what they were doing when I was trying to log in.
