In this episode, Mike talks about sequelitis briefly before stumbling awkwardly through a discussion of racism. Then there's frog glue in the Science Corner, disappointing customer service at the Gaming Table, plus a new Nerd of the Week. R2 rolls out ten new listener submitted questions and we wrap it all up with a pretty meaty Listener Betrayal. The must-listen podcast episode of Labor Day 2016. Don't miss it!
Enjoy!

Regarding drinking water...
As a former distance runner, the problem with just drinking water while running is that it doesn't also replace the other nutrients you lose when you sweat, which can result in the imbalances that can result in organ damage or even death. After finishing a half-marathon, even, after the sweat evaporates, you're left with a layer of gritty, salt-like minerals all over your skin. So it's important that you drink Gatorade or some other drink that not only gives you the water you need, but also replaces the minerals you lost, in order to keep the proper balance of water-to-minerals in your system.
Outside of distance running, I usually end up drinking about 1.5 liters of water a day. I do better during workdays, when I have a regular schedule and it's easy to keep a water bottle readily available. On weekends, especially if I'm away from the house for kids' activities, or when I'm traveling for work, it's harder or I end up drinking soda instead of water. After a few days without drinking my quota of water, I start to notice the differences: my throat gets dry quicker, my sinuses clog up, my skin gets drier and starts to itch more.
