The new TICK...

...is DARK. Like, surprisingly dark. And yet, still so Tick.

It's on Amazon Prime. It's being released one episode per week, so there's only the one episode here. I'm already hooked, but I can see this being either really awesome or really messed up (or hopefully, both). They're clearly going to play the juxtaposition of Arthur's gritty and dark (and super depressing) reality versus the Tick's pure tick-ness.

In a moment of incredible exposition, Tick explains his powers, including the most important one which has never before been mentioned. But he's right on. It so perfectly encapsulates the Tick.

This thing is bold, and there are so many potential pitfalls, but I'm on board for this ride. I am rooting for it to be epic.

I really enjoyed the pilot for the new Tick. I thought it had just the right balance of Tick lunacy and seriously interesting plotiness to make it an actually interesting show instead of just a cult classic. I always liked the old Tick and the cartoon, but I liked it as pure comedy. This looked like it could actually have ... STORY! And they actually gave ... Nah, Won't spoil...... must not spoil....



let's just say that they made a seriously REAL reason for Arthur to say "Not in the face! Not in the face!"
