Sometimes, looking at these, I wonder about the person (or people) who make them. Not only the work involved -- excellent photoshopping and an impressive understanding of fabrics -- but their film interests and biases (rare to see a movie from the first 80 years of filmmaking), and other interests and biases. I wonder if turns are taken, as sometimes the race and gender balances are pretty good, sometimes I dunno, women are rare and may or may not be fully clothed. I dunno, maybe it says something about them, maybe it says something about Hollywood, maybe says something about my prudishness. Probably all three.

I'm with Kyle. I've always assumed that their selections were based on popularity and recognizability. Thus any perceived inequities are more a reflection of Hollywood over the last few decades.
