My house was rather rude to me this morning. When I was getting in the shower and adjusting the water temperature, a drop of water that I would estimate was about 32.5 degrees F dripped from the exhaust fan onto the small of my back! Needless to say that was rather annoying! I got hit twice more by drips before I got the shower running. It seemed to not be dripping while I was actually showering.

I told my wife about it, saying I was worried that there might be a problem with a leak in the roof around the vent, but she assured me that it's just condensation because that fan doesn't actually vent through the roof.

It turns out, and I recall this now, that a while back when we had mold abatement done on our house (which required us to leave the house for a couple of days including boarding the dogs and taking out any house plants and even Herman, our sourdough starter... my daughter thinks it's odd that we named something that we cook and eat, but back when my mother got her first sourdough starter when I was a kid it was called Herman and the name just stuck... a while back I found a comic set in a bakery where one of the employees was giving the baker a hard time about naming his sourdough starter "Brad" [because it's almost Bread] and his response was "Everybody names their sourdough starter! It's tradition!"... but I digress...)

Anyway, during the mold abatement process, one of the things the company said needed to be fixed was the shower fan vent. It seems that it was never properly vented and was merely drawing the moisture into the attic, which was contributing significantly to the mold problems in the house. They vented it to the soffit instead of poking another hole in the roof, so I don't need to worry about there being a leak in the roof causing the drip... however, that means that there's probably jack I can do about this other than leaving the fan running longer to try to dry out the vent! I even whacked my elbow in the process of avoiding the middle of the shower in order to not get hit by the damned drip while I was getting the shower started. Really annoying!

I hate vent fans that aren't really vent fans. Our stove vent exhaust is about two feet above the intake, still in the kitchen. I never use it as it's just noise that does nothing.

My taxes are done and being filed! I'm getting a very small refund back from federal as well as the two states that I have to file in (I travel to CA a few times a year for work, and as a result, I have to file CA business and state income taxes for the time I spend working in their state, which is a pain in the butt!). Working with a CPA and making sure we adjust our withholding on a month-to-month basis based on our actual business income goes a long way to making sure you don't owe too much and don't get too much of a refund (which just means you ended up paying the government too much money, interest free, throughout the year).

The pain isn't going away and it is spreading. I think we need to see a specialist, not a GP. I (and my degree from Johns Hopkins NOT) think it may be a pinched nerve that is being nudged by certain activities that inflame areas around her neck....just my $0.02

Also my b oss is working overtime tonight...he was 1.5 hours late! No call, no nothing...not even donuts or an "I'm sorry".

He comes in late on dayshift by 15 minutes every day. EVERY SINGLE DAY.
So there are 9 of us waiting for him to show up, then he has the audacity to say we need to pay better attention to detail on our jobs.
I cannot respect someone that does that...

All of this sounds bad! I know a really, really good orthopedic surgeon (back) and then another one (knee, hip) but not local to y'all unfortunately. But if you don't have a good one nearby, keep in mind. They have specialized facilities just for people having those types of surgeries, so everyone on staff specializes in precisely that concern.

We're lucky enough to be very close to be big academic hospital, so we have some pretty good doctors and surgeons nearby to choose from.

A person I thought I was friends with "on Facebook", such as it is, has for reasons totally inexplicable and unknown blocked me on Facebook. So weird. I legit have no clue why. Part of me wants to say it's me, being bad in whatever way I'm just so often bad without knowing why, I guess. But part of me wonders if it's that she is unhappy with other people I know. I don't know man, if I could cut certain people out of my life I would, but I can't, for really good reasons, and I guess if someone truly liked me they would care about what those reasons were before cutting me off like a cancer. So whatever, onward in life. It is and always and forever shall be one of the great mysteries to me that I attract such haters in the online world. I just don't think I have those people in real life, or if I do I'm blessed not to know them. I will say I picked up a random Facebook friend, with whom I just clicked really well right away, and has turned out to be a distant cousin of mine. I find that kind of amazing and I wonder if Facebook somehow six degrees of separated us.
