Good morning! I’m traveling for work this week. I was late getting to the hotel Monday night, so I slept in a little later than usual. Thanks for your concern, though, Kyle.

Ugh. The 24 hour fitness center at my hotel is being remodeled, and the replacement is only open from 5:30 AM to 11:00 PM. I’m a morning workout person who has to be at the office at 6:00 AM, so I guess I don’t get a morning workout this week. Or the two other upcoming weeks when I’m staying at the same hotel. The alternative is to run outside in the dark in an unfamiliar neighborhood, which I’m not keen to do.

We've been over this. Tahlvin wakes up at 2:30 every morning and does a triathlon with ten pound ankle weights on. He only sits down to post on the boards after he's completed that AND a weeks worth of P90X routines.

[Mike]

I'm so jealous.

I want Tahlvin to do pull-ups with a kettlebell attached to his waist, and then share the video with us tomorrow night. Or maybe he can rig up some way to do this in front of the webcam.

Kyle's about right about the time of day, but a little bit off on the intensity of the workout. And while I'm traveling to the left coast, I tend to wake up closer to 2 AM, because hotel sleeping is crappy. But it's just one P90X workout, not a week's worth on a single day, and only walking the dog and running 4 miles rather than doing a triathlon. And while I wear a weighted vest with some of my workouts, I had to stop wearing it while running, since it was too hard on the knees.

And while I'd love to try doing pull-ups while strapped to a kettlebell, I'm certainly not going to post videos of it! Similar to how running with a weighted vest is hard on my knees, doing unassisted pull-ups is too hard on my shoulders, so I usually rest my feet on something to help reduce the load a bit, and just increase the rep count. I'm more interested in endurance than bulk anyways.
