A small suggestion for film club round 2, can we make ONE slight rule that the film has to be 3-5 years older then the current year? if not that's totally ok, just a thought in my pretty little head.

Mime- the new rule will go into effect when I make my next selection. I think the rule will prohibit buckett's choice (which he told me about), but his choice is a good one that no one has seen. So I don't want to bump that choice.

It'd also have ruled out A Dark Song. If the issue is picks that aren't quite underseen, maybe we can think up a different rule. I'm fine either way though.

Personally, I say we just let people pick movies based on the constraints outlined in the initial post. If people want to advocate for picking older movies (as mime suggests) or not so much horror as others said near the start, then they can. And I, for one, can say that I take those requests to heart and they influence my picks, because there's tons of possible movies, and it doesn't hurt me to be respectful of that. But on the other hand, I also know that if we haven't had a horror movie in the last handful of movies and I find something that I feel strongly about, then I can work it in.

So rather than a hard, fast rule, how about "hey, maybe we should all pay attention and try to break it up a bit."

I don't think we need any date restrictions. Just reiterate this point:

5-The movie should be a movie you've seen before and liked-- a hidden gem- something that you loved, but isn't well known or widely seen. Unlike last time, the movie should be something that you've already seen and don't mind watching again.

I think Between Two Ferns satisfies #5, except for "hidden gem" -- more like future hidden gem. Fine choosing something else

Oh yea I'm down for sticking with ferns, this was not any kind of suggestion that the current movie picks were bad, just a thought going forward with round 2.
