Good morning! The surgery went well, and he went home late yesterday afternoon with a flat chest! He was still loopy from the anesthesia, and has to wear a compression vest for a couple of weeks.

Our dog is 10 years old, but it has only been in the last year or two that the dog has been frightened by fireworks and thunder, to the point of shaking uncontrollably. She also has kidney disease that we're trying to treat, but which may turn out to be fatal in a matter of months. On the heals of losing all three of our cats in the past year, not looking forward to dealing with that. But such is pet ownership.

Oh I am sorry, that is sad - hopefully you can manage the kidney function to some degree so it doesn't cause suffering.
