The starting premise is that Trump's plans to deal with asylum seekers in this AMs headlines are both illegal and immoral.

However, one reason he gets away with this stuff is that he's the only one making headlines with moves for which the average voter has no context or competing alternatives, on issues they correctly identify as a huge problem. We are only going to see more asylum-seekers in addition to the usual number of people migrating, not only as violence and other bad conditions persist, but as effects of climate change worsen.

So what are the alternatives to deal with this reality in some way besides the cruel, indecent, illegal way that Miller... oh, Trump is going about it? For me it starts with the premise that children cannot be incarcerated, period, and that employers should be punished more than anyone who merely tries to work illegally. But then what?

Also I think we owe it to all DACA recipients to follow through on our promises; we owe all undocumented immigrants in the armed forces (or vets) a plan for citizenship. It defies all decency that Trump and co want to deport vets, and do.
