4, 5, 7, 8 at the VERY least, are clearly better.

Look, Solo was fun but I've seen it twice and still remember virtually nothing about it. I couldn't make a slighter Star Wars movie if I tried.

1-3 are bad but I wouldn't call them slight. They swing for the fences and fail utterly.

Solo is obviously better (I liked it!) but it's also just kinda "there." I can't imagine ranking it any higher than 5th. I'd probably have it 6th.

Not to mention the rather large gap between those 4 (or 3 if you are a Last Jedi hater) and the rest of the movies.

I'd like to know why Luke and his Daddy aren't enough to salvage Jedi even for people who inexplicably hate Ewoks.

For the same reason Rose and Finn's slapstick casino shenanigans have been dragging down #8 for me since the week after I saw it.

So... essentially Luke/Vader duel (and Emperor, and ghost Ben) and aftermath is less impressive for you than... Island hermit Luke and mind-meld KyloRey. Hmmm.

Hot take of my own coming through: the casino part in TLJ is good. Super cool set design, bonkers Benicio del Toro performance, and one of the only times the series reckons with what living under the Empire would be like for normal people.

Also, nothing in TLJ or ROTJ is as cringy as the scene where Han gets the name "Solo."

Just saw Trainspotting 2. I actually thought it was a good revisit to those characters. They all played pretty true to the original story. I watched a review after I saw the movie, and they said something I agreed with, so I'll rip it off here. It's about revisiting the glory days without just being a revisit of the glory days. There's growth, for some of them, even if the growth is just accepting that they haven't grown.

I also realized at the beginning of this movie that I never finished the original. So I went back and did that. Still a gut punch of a movie with beautiful scenes that are hard to watch.

Captain Marvel
A OK setup for a new part of the Marvel Universe with a look at the Kree homeworld, Skrulls(used in a suprising way) and the titular hero.

it's OK, a bloated film that's way to long(no reason that this film should be over 2 hours) but the nostalgia stuff is fun, the action itself lacks any sense of weight and is very Saturday morning cartoon which is fine if that's what you want. A nice diversion before we get to AVENGERS 4

Way more fun than Captain Marvel. It's not trying to be important, or grim, or say anything really big about the human condition or current politics. And that was fine. It was darker than I thought it would be based on the trailers, but still a lot of goofy fun. I think this continued the arc from Aquaman of having it be in a sort-of shared universe with Justice League without being in a shared plotline. Which looks like a way better play for DC/WB. I didn't notice any real plot holes, but give it a week and I might try being smart. For now, it was AWESOME!

So London flies around and eats smaller cities, people have accents and facial scars and are always scowling and looking at each other while flashbacks play out, I dont know, maybe I'm getting to old, kind of like a 2 hour music video. ** out of *****
