Re: What are you watching?
I'm so annoyed because my husband is up there watching it right now while I am making dinner what the hell.

Re: What are you watching?
Riverdale, that's what. My daughter has just finished season 2...and we watched it with her.

One of my remaining joys in life is reading umhinged angry comments from the insane Boomers under the Star Trek Discovery facebook posts.

You(Netflix original series)
Squeaking in to close out the year Netflix dropped a thriller series called "You", so far it kind of reminds me of Dexter if Dexter was into stalking and not killing(I mean not killing for fun). Just a great series that plops you in the twisted mind of a protagonist who wants to move heaven and earth to win the love of his current obsession. Great fun and a great series.

Re: What are you watching?
Still watching skin wars and I think we've run out of seasons to watch. Back in the day used to be able to watch something, like I don't know, Donny and Marie Osmond, and your daughter could be in love with Donny Osmond without taking any actual progress towards marrying him. But nowadays in the world of the internet it will be easy for my daughter to track down that youngest guy on skin wars season 3 and date him. I have actual concerns about this because he has the money to fly here and is not that much older. On the other hand I totally get where she's coming from; Apple doesn't fall that far.
Re: What are you watching?
Channel Zero: Butcher's Block (on Shudder). Definitely creepy genre fare, but a little lazy on the explanatory dialogue and plotting.
Re: What are you watching?
Currently actively watching Marvelous Mrs. Maizel (awesome and charming), Travelers, and keeping up with Orville and Brooklyn Nine Nine as episodes come out.
Travelers is still engaging, but I'm worrying that they need to start revealing some secrets before they get too far down the Lost rabbit hole.
Brooklyn Nine Nine is still as funny as ever.
Orville is a mystery to me. It's... off... somehow, yet still very watchable. But I suspect it's not a good show. Hard to define how I feel about it.

Re: What are you watching?
Orville rides a very specific locus of crude humor, scifi whimsy/exploration, and a down to earth sense of humanity (highs and lows). It's got flaws, but I find them endearing. For now.
I mean, they took a pretty throwaway gag from the first season about Moclans only peeing once a year, realized that such a thing would be notable in their culture and probably marked with a ceremony, and then made a heartwarming plot about how friendship is strengthened by including each other in just those kinds of moments. Even if the moment is watching your crewmate pee off a cliff in front of the whole town. I don't know if that's genius or garbage, but it's something.

Re: What are you watching?
Exactly how I feel about it.
Last season, they had an entire episode on gender reassignment. The parents completely disagreed and ultimately Bortus's desires were ignored and the choice taken from him (and the child).
I was surprised and pleased to see that this season finds that there is lasting resentment and an exploration of how their relationship was damaged. It was still happily resolved in a single episode, but it's cool to see consequences for some of these things.

I was just thinking about that episode. Bortus is really getting some mileage this season.

Orville is great, seeing the data character get licked by the porno worf character while Data was trying to get some work done was quite good

Re: What are you watching?
Is Orville a Netflix thing? I would like something lighter to suggest to the man.
Re: What are you watching?
Hulu. Season 1 is all there. Season 2 appears as each show airs.

Re: What are you watching?
The end of the last episode of Orville, friends hugging and wishing each other well struck a special cord with me. The season premier of Discovery airs tonight with trailers filled with apocalyptic imagery, angels made of fire, a broken Spock, and lines dipped in space drama and deep fried. stuff like "the future depends on you"
I wonder if I will ever see friends in Star Trek hug again.

Re: What are you watching?
Husband is watching House. This is THE WORST and MOST OFFENSIVE show I have ever seen. W. T. F. ?????
I loathe this horrid show like no other. It's worse than Big Bang Theory and that family show with Ted Bundy. Worse!

Re: What are you watching?
I liked House, but misanthropic genius was a sub genre I was into for a bit.* Standard mystery show with misanthropic medicine as the gimmick and some strong performances about a horrible person and his support network of enablers working for "the greater good". It's crap from a medical point of view, but I think the title for most medically accurate show on television is still held by Scrubs because the medicine wasn't the drama engine.
Might I suggest a real doctor debunking the show as a palate cleanser?
* Who am I kidding, I still like Iron Man and Doctor Strange.

Re: What are you watching?
hahha I'm trying to suss out what would make HOUSE, a genial medical show with a great lead insulting to any degree, can't do it! oh well!
YOU is in the history books, had no idea it was a lifetime show that was shitcanned and picked up by Netflix, good call! SHow is soapy fun.
BODYGUARD is a great show that is moving in directions that I wasn't anticipating, it has a generic as hell title which made me avoid it at first but I'm glad I got over it.
the chica is having me watch Sex Education, SCULLY from X-files is doing a lot of sex talk so that's really all I need
