Flame vs Mike J.
Aphrodite vs Hermes
Achilles, Perseus vs Atalanta, Argus
Essentially, first round was quick opener for a quick control of godball. Perseus got control quickly, and was promptly beaten down by other heroes,
ditching godball to Achilles via force fumble.
Then surrounded by everyone, golden apple comes in play! Aphrodite now have 2 heroes with point-bearing stuff. Achilles shoves Perseus, which is most definitely not defended, and Perseus moves from center, and got close to finish line quickly, being able to rest.
Terrain came in play, Achilles dropped godball to Argus who tosses to Atal, who tossed in for 1 point, while Perseus rushes in with golden apple for 2 points. Not long after, Atal was tossed another ball from Argus, by which Atal used to run in for 2 points. Argus got in position, making it difficult for Achilles to throw to Perseus, but Aphrodite had something up the sleeves -- Galatea, whcih became a target that has a direct line to the goal. Achilles and Perseus promptly became a meat wall between Argus and Galatea. Atal is badly positioned to do anything. (note to self, should have grabbed Argus.)
Galatea plodded very slowly for 2 points. How cool is that? That's when it was 7 round ended, and Mike had to go.

Discussions:
It's extremely interesting to play with two heroes, spending AP as they go. One GP per turn. I thought it worked out remarkably well, and all cards suddenly have slightly different purposes. Blessings/Curses might not be exactly appropriate, given potential creative uses of curses. Then again, curses might be a blessing in disguise. Eli may add that line to rules book, and reduce blessings/curse into a single category. (blessings might be a curse in disguise as well!)
It's quite a difference to have what is virtually double AP, and different positioning. I wouldn't say that it's better game, because it's practically apple/oranges from what we have. It's just another new game in a sense!

Mike and Flame have heard some of my thoughts already. I think there's lots of cool stuff still to be discovered in this design, and I feel incredibly lucky that we have found a system that has the flexibility to hold these emergent strategies, variations and mechanics inside of it.
I think that we need to proceed toward balancing the game toward a FFA system and let the flexibility of the powers lead to different strategies for the team games. (And I definitely think that there needs to be team setups and 'rules' as well!)
Mike expressed concern about Hermes feeling a little dull. I would be interested to hear more about that, and what thoughts there might be on how to boost that a little.

Could have been luck if the draw. I saw only 10 cards, because it was a short game. 1 was "Take a card from each god..." not as exciting when there's only 2 of us. I also had an "add or remove one terrain", a "move one extra hex" card and then all Blessings.

Makes me wonder if we should be rethinking GP... And perhaps upping showy features. Even in blessings.
