[GB] Card version 1.3

Playtested live at Chez Eli. 3 people.

Hera, Athena, and Zeus.

Zeus won with 1 goal. Gameplay took an hour. Athena's Hero got dumb and forgot where the goal were.

Hera had some chances to go for goal, but that slipped away quickly. Athena had tons of trouble getting out of the pocket between Hera and Zeus's goal. Zeus nearly scored 2nd goal.

This was the first playtest of Hera/Athena new powers, and overall, we thought they actually felt better! More flexibility, more interesting elements, more defensive elements. The most interesting is move curse where hero must move in the turn.

This curse essentially knocked hero off peacock chariot, which has been seriously upgraded (but maybe needs some more tweaks)

Later, the curse came back into play in form of grab. Normally, grabee might consider just resting, but with curse, grabee cannot just move, then rest because of the restrictions on number of actions!

Meanwhile, adding to complications, there were 4 legends on the board with 3 storm tokens from Zeus! Oh yes, one of them was Marathonian Bull.

I think the game could have easily gone anywhere, with points amassed everywhere.

Then in person dueling -- Poseidon and Aphrodite. Granted, 1v1 isn't the best, but despite all appearances, it was pretty close! Poseidon edged out with 4 goals, Aphrodite 3 goals.

Opening was amusing. Aphrodite started with a pull where both heroes move towards each other. That put Poseidon in position for move, sprint, and mountain SURFING. Then suddenly, Poseidon hero is next to godball. Scored first blood in 2 round with a nice kick blessing. Aphrodite upped the game not long afterwards, but quickly got bogged down. Poseidon got a bunch of create terrain, but never got to destroy terrain. Labyrinth was in play as well. Soon enough, entire side is covered with stuff, making movement very difficult.

The fun part was that Aphrodite cursed Poseidon with "thou shalt drop the ball constantly" -- meaning:

1) Poseidon's hero couldn't throw.
2) Poseidon's hero couldn't run it in.

At critical point, Poseidon is on the wrong side, but with godball sitting next to goal (last touched by Poseidon). Aphrodite hero sitting on Mt. Olympus.

Poseidon tossed a trident, shove + KO. Didn't defend. knocked off the Mt Olympus. Then Poseidon hero moved onto Mt. Olympus. GP: terrain -- push godball one hex. Into goal. Ball returned to Mt. Olympus, which was promptly "tossed" to the other side, such that Poseidon hero is between Aphrodite hero and godball. Entirely on wrong side. That's how he won (Though, Aphrodite immediately pulled in a golden apple and tried to run it in, but that wasn't enough because of all the terrain bogging things down on the other side.)

And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for you meddling kid!

Seriously, the new curse cards are fantastic. It makes me want to revisit all the blessings and make them more thematic. Maybe keep some of the one use, 0 AP cards, but some of the 'drop AP 1 point cards' might be better served with complete re-writes.
