I'm not sure what part of this is most offensive, but right now the front-runner is the fact that our government has itself taken thousands of children from their parents, has defied court orders to reunite and probably can't ever reunite hundreds of them, and we have evidence that these children have been physically and sexually abused while in custody. Some remain incarcerated, others are brought before immigration judges even though they are too young to have developed language yet, much less understand a court proceeding, and at least a few have been given to adoptive parents and the courts refused to relinquish them. if you want to protest the sick misreatment of children you don't have to look very far.

But suppose if you're the kind of moral degenerate that doesn't care about immigrants you believe have no humanity, how about the standard human trafficking problem that exists in all 50 states right now? You don't need to look for a deep state to find human traffickers of children. But for some reason these people are just completely batshit crazy, and given the florid descriptions they offer of alleged crimes, I'm terrified that they're projecting these ideas on a level comparable to their Great Master Trump.

Have I not posted about this already? I have a friend who's an older woman in her 60s who's drank the entire pitcher of kool aide on this- so that's how i discovered it. The craziest part about it is how stupid you have to be to believe in it. The conspiracy itself is contradictory and nonsensical. But the worst part is that I think it's just an 8chan joke that got out of control.

This is seductive, because A) it's a retooling and rebranding of "vast global conspiracies" that have been around forever, so they are already incredibly intricate, with tons of supporting "evidence" and have ready answers for most obvious objections; B) the retooling has tailored it for the MAGA crowd that is already primed to want to believe any stories that include a Trump-good-liberals/Dems/media-bad narrative; and C) it has that focus on child sex abuse that fires people up to want to DO something.

I'm not surprised at its existence, but am demoralized and saddened to see it so prominently displayed at rallies.

The whole thing honestly reminds very much of Pizzagate.

And it sounds like this is still very much a fringe thing, but the example of pizzagate shows how it could become a very real danger.

I think this is kind of one of those things because its not like the rich and powerful have kinks and sexual urges that they aren't willing to shell out large amounts of cash to pursue in unethical ways but to the degree that's being bandied about by these nuts nawwwww.

But that's just the thing: if you were an ultra-wealthy weirdo who wanted to abuse people, you wouldn't need a vast conspiracy and you would sit in your air conditioned mansion or fabulous Thai beach cottage or Dubai penthouse, not a scorpion infested hole outdoors in the 120 degree desert.
