Boys wanting in on that cookie money
Suddenly, equal! I find it funny
Sorry to be such a cranky cynic
Really it's nice now girls can be in it
Scouts
Re: Scouts
It should have been this from the begining
For little girls, I think this is win-win-ing
For the GSA, maybe not so much,
But I'l keep buying their cookies, they're my crutch.

Re: Scouts
The cookie money is not the main reason the Boy Scouts want to be more inclusive. Although it sure would be nice to have a product that I feel many people are buying because they actually want it and not solely out of obligation. But oh well.
The main reason is that they need members. Membership is down as a percent and in real numbers over the last few years. There's lots if possible reasons for that. This move helps them start to shake off their bigoted, conservative reputation AND doubles the recruitment pool. I just wish the Girl Scouts were actually in on this plan with us. I'd much rather this be a merger instead of whatever resentment we have going on now.
Side note on Girl Scout cookies vs Boy Scout popcorn: both of them return about 70% of total sales dollars back to the Scouting programs. However, in Girl Scouts, only 10-20% of total sales go to the local troop that did the selling, while the rest goes to the council. In Boy Scouts, it's 25-35% to the local troop.

About the cookies, I was just kidding
For better numbers it seems they're bidding
