Good morning. Was up nice and early today, as the smoke alarm in my hotel room started doing the low-battery chirping noise around 1:00 AM. Had to call the front desk for someone to come up and fix it. They pulled it off the wall, removed the power supply, removed the backup battery, and it was still chirping! So they took it with them when they left. So now I'm wide awake in a hotel room without any functioning smoke alarm. I guess I'll get to sleep on the airplane this evening.

Good morning. I got a couple hours of sleep last night after getting home, and a little bit of sleep on the plane on the way back to home. But when I got to the airport, the battery was dead in the car. Thankfully, I was parked facing another row of cars, and someone was getting into a car just opposite me and over one spot, and I had jumper cables in the trunk just in case, so I was able to get the car jumpstarted for the drive home from the airport. Then, on the way home from the airport, the police had the road blocked off for some reason, so I ended up having to take a bunch of winding residential streets trying to find a way around the blocked section of road. That added about 5 minutes to my drive, which was nice to have around midnight. On the plus side, the dog is feeling better and was able to go for a nice long walk this morning.

She's so soothing though. Sometimes...sometimes, Mike, I open up the Google Translations of Classics thread and just lead her read to me. Her version of Robert Ice-crystals-on-things "Binary Path Proceeding Differently" really helps me fall asleep.
