Fanning Cards?

Which way do you fan your cards? I fan so the upper lefthand corner is visible. I'm pretty sure that I'm backwards from a majority of the people out there. Or... I can't remember if I trained myself to do it the way everyone else does.

I do everything lefthanded except eat and write. I don't remember if this is on my righthand list or not.

That's the opposite for my brain, which recoiled in confusion and had to read the sentence twice! The cards. I can do other things left-handed pretty well, like batting and hair curling and writing, but it comes through practice against nature that transpired when I wanted to be able to bat left handed.

Standard playing cards (and most cards intended to be held as a "hand") put the number/symbol/basic info on the top left corner, so if you fan them any other way, you can't tell what cards you're holding.

Maybe that's what Eli meant? I thought he meant the left-side card would be showing atop the fan.

Okay, yeah, I'm backwards. I push the cards out to the left, holding them in my left hand. So the right corner is showing. Great for Magic:The Gathering less good for other things.

I think, if I were to deal with this dilemma... The correct way is to have the information in both corners...

Yeah if you're creating cards it would be nice if you could get a glimpse of the information at both top right and left corners. Maybe you don't have to know everything on both sides exactly the same but at least an indication that helps you know what card it is?

(I hold mine in left hand with the right-most card on top of fan.)

I had to go get cards to try this out. Turns out I'm equal opportunity for this sort of thing. *sigh* I am unhelpful in this particular arena.

I fan the cards such that they stagger slightly so I can see both sides of all cards.

I'm a nerd.

What card games are y'all playing? I love playing cards. Ideally I would get to play bridge, but since most people don't know how to play, I end up playing a lot of other random things.
