394 years ago in Turkey, Avedis Zildjian begins selling cymbals. WOW how WOW is that?!

He began his project of making cymbals by trying to turn base metals into gold with Alchemy. The alloy that he created in the process produced a sheet of metal that could be used as the cymbal we know today. Mind blown. They were originally used in war.

Zildjian himself was Armenian but of course this is during the Ottoman Empire, in Constantinople.
