[GB] Poseidon Cards

Postby Eliahad » Wed Sep 13, 2017 1:11 pm

Here is a space to brainstorm cards for Poseidon. Eventually I want everything to have a comedic feel, but for now, I want to brainstorm as many ideas as possible.

Create Sea – Terrain – Add an ocean token to a hex. Remove any terrain tokens currently occupying the hex.

Poseidon’s Trident – Imbue – The champion is given the trident of Poseidon. Poseidon’s Trident can be used in two ways. It can be thrown up to three hexes, knocking a champion prone to the ground. If the champion is holding the Godball, it is dropped into an adjacent hex of Poseidon’s choosing. Or, it can be used against an adjacent champion, knocking them to the ground. If that champion is holding the Godball, Poseidon’s champion immediately gains ownership of the Godball. Discard Poseidon’s Trident after use.

Water Spout – Special Movement/Hinder – A blast of water pushes a champion one hex in any direction.

Wall of Water – Defense – Poseidon’s Champion is encased in a globe of water, preventing any attacks against the champion until the champion leaves his current hex. This card may be played immediately after an attack card targeting Poseidon’s Champion is played.

Master of the Ocean – All 6 hexes surrounding Poseidon’s Champion, are immediately converted into ocean tokens. Any terrain tokens are immediately replaced with ocean tokens. Leave this card face up, until the end of the round, Poseidon’s Champion may move through ocean tokens without having to pay an AP cost.

From the Depths – hindrance – A champion within 2 hexes of an ocean token is grasped by tentacles of an ocean beast. The champion must spend 2 AP to break free of the tentacles.

Swamp – Barrier – Poseidon floods a hex, creating a sticky morass. Add a swamp barrier token to that hex.

Crown of the Sea – Imbue – Crown of the Sea allows the champion to swap ocean tokens with adjacent terrain tokens. When used in this way, turn the Crown of the Sea. If the Crown of the Sea is turned, discard Crown of the Sea to swap tokens one additional time.

Cleansing Waves – Terrain – Choose one water hex, and choose one hex side. On Poseidon’s turn, the water hex moves one hex in that direction, removing any terrain token on that hex. This continues until the water hex reaches an edge of the game board and is removed. If the water token moves into a hex occupied by a champion, that champion is knocked prone, and the godball dropped to an adjacent hex of Poseidon’s choosing.

I really think you should add some horses for Poseidon - it would be better for any "trampled by herd" attack to come from Hera and a herd of cows, so maybe the horse could be a special motion - like you run way faster!

I think of P. more as an earthQuake guy - so things like shaking and chasms opening - where other gods are more about earth-shaping activity.
