Ugh. The choice was between sleeping on an uncomfortable sofa-bed shared with my 12-year-old son, or squeeze my 6'1" frame onto a 4' couch and cycle between my back or one side, not being able to lay on the other side so a zipper in the leg of my sweatpants doesn't damage the leather couch. I chose the 4' couch, and while I think it ultimately led to a better sleeping experience than the shared sofa-bed, I am still wide awake after a mere 5 hours of interrupted sleep.

We professional snorers have better escape landings. You need a big old fuzzy couch. Or a brown fake fur blanket for your leather couch. These are my go-tos if kids are diagonal across bed or have early school.
