1 point: for each platinum over 9x platinum in the US. Eg. an album that sold 10x platinum earns 1 point. If the album went 15x platinum it'd earn 6 points.
1 point to 10 points: appearing on 2012 Rolling Stone's Greatest Albums of All Time list. Albums in the top 50 get 10 points. Then each 50 afterwards points are reduced by one point. eg. #498 get 1 point, #340 gets 4 points, #77 gets 9 points.

Thriller, Rumours, and The Joshua Tree are three of seven albums on all three lists. I think the seven should have a designation ala EGOT, but one small issue: Rolling Stone's list is not perfect, lists very little non-Rock non-Hip Hop albums. Also something about lack of representation of women I heard about recently. Then again, the Grammys of course have issues, usually to the detriment of hip-hop. The people buying the albums, on the other hand... sometimes have terrible taste

Adele gets no love from the RS, probably because in 2012 21 was a new album and 25 was four years away.

Like a Virgin didn't get a Grammy, not on RS, and is 10x Platinum. Which would give it 1 point, if not for that -100 I put in there, thus giving it -99 points.

Indeed No Jacket Required is on the list, winning the Grammy and going 12x Platinum for 13 points.
Zen picking one of my current favs Nick of Time by Bonnie Raitt, which won the Grammy, was 230 on the RS list for a cool 16 points.
Zombie right on the money with Sgt. Pepper, which is fourth of seven albums that are on all three lists, going 11x Platinum (according to wikipedia) and being a respectable #1 on the RS list and 22 points in the game.

Christopher Cross is not well liked by RS critics and didn't go Diamond.
Dark Side would be 26 if it had won best album, instead it gets -84.
Abbey Road had 13 points before losing 100. I should have probably spent another little bit researching and adding and not had the penalty, but ah well.

2nd round clue: year album won Grammy.
Should have started this last round, but new rule, for each clue I will subtract that many points from the original point total. So, #3, with two clues, I'm reducing from 24 points to 22 points.
