Galaxy Trucker: anyone tried it?

I'm reading and while it is interesting, the biggest thing I got from reading all the comments is that Galaxy Trucker sounds like a game I'd want to try. Has anyone played it?

Sounds like it's a tile-laying game, where you have a shitty selection of spaceship parts, from which you try to construct the most viable ships you can. Then in the next phase, you try to keep your ship together while dodging/blasting obstacles and picking up/delivering objectives for cash. Apparently, the fight in the thread above comes from the building phase where the first person to complete their ship starts a timer, and everyone else has precious seconds to finish up, and then they're stuck flying with whatever they have. That sounds awesome!

Oh yeah! I read an article praising this game. You should buy it and try it out for the rest of us.

I might ask for it for Christmas or something. It's rated like 7.4 on Board Game Geek. That's pretty good.
