Famous Character Actor: Chris Pine

Can we talk about Chris Pine for a second? Let me begin by stating that I absolutely love Chris Pine, so understand that I don't mean any disrespect to him.

Who is Chris Pine, you ask? You may know him from his leading roles in Star Trek; Star Trek 2: Khaaan; or Star Trek 3: Kyle Hasn't Seen It. You may also know him as Steve Trevor in Wonder Woman, or as the lead role in the Jack Ryan reboot. Here- this is him:



Here's the thing. He's fine in all of those roles. I especially love him in Wonder Woman for actually knowing exactly the character and the point of the character in Wonder Woman and playing it pitch perfect. But that's not when I fell in love with Chris Pine. I fell in love with him when I saw him in the almost unrecognizable role of Eric, the reclusive musician in the Wet Hot American Summer Netflix show. And then I saw him play the third wheel in Z for Zachariah. Then I watched him in a subtle but amazing performance in Hell or High Water. And now he's on Angie Tribecca?

Listen y'all- he's just the best. And, underneath that pretty, rugged mug, he's a damn good actor. And not in a leading man way. Here's my theory: he's a die-hard character actor cursed with the good looks of a leading man.

Get into it, people. Oh- and see Hell or High Water if you haven't already.

He has long been on my preferred list, ever since that Star Trek movie.

Ew that hair bugs me though.

I know... that's why he's such a good character actor.

Oooo, I see what you mean!

And for a nice change of pace, Kyle and I are going to agree on a movie. Hell or High Water will literally turn you into a perfect being, just by watching it.

Mostly because Tarantino didn't direct, and it wasn't Suicide Squad.

I will punch you in the kidney at least sixteen times, if you ever use that kind of insult about me again.

Jean Reno, Frankenheimer, Bean, and De Niro? IT'S GODDAMN RONIN. WHAT IS THERE TO NOT LIKE? How can you not love a movie that uses ice skaters and snipers as a way to ratchet up drama?

Hey guys! What're we talking about?

You know, I like Ronin, too. I mean, my only complaint is that movies today really don't need that much violence, but it was still really, really, really good. Really.

You guys are the best! We're like the Three Amigos, right?

[Stan]

I think Kyle likes Pine mainly because he reminds him of a young Kyle.

He's just pining for him...

I don't know, Stan. I don't really see the resemblance.

I feel like there's still a little bit of hope that I can unsee this, but very slim. Stan can make it up to me by posting pictures of himself.

You don't need pictures of me. Just imagine Jack Black and Kevin Smith creating a child together and that's what I look like.
