Totally agree. Nor must a sandwich be portable or carb based. Indeed, some of the superior examples are so utterly meat and cheese or veggie laden that they can only be eaten in a messy frenzy.

Putting hamburger on bread reportedly changes the experience radically for SOME people. I like it though. You can also make a meatloaf sandwich and THAT is amazing!
