I had no idea what was going on all over. I lost the uPad so soon that I just let it go. I used the wolf-pack mentality to keep Dole loyal to the leader and the pack, but also protective against outside threats. I could hardly believe how they hacked through each other without remorse or at least strong suspicion.

Right. Had I thought about it and divided the teams so that more "traditional" players had been in both groups, those guys would have eaten the rest of your for lunch (for a couple clones until you caught on). They're used to games where, no matter who you think your friends are, they eventually WILL turn on you. Thus, they start with the attitude that it's better to make sure you get them first.
To be fair, Didjab did try to make friends at the start, but sadly, he chose Runanide's character to try to befriend, and Runanide is the most paranoid of them all.
Enn and Sync get along pretty well for the next couple chapters, and Preach and Cue manage to form a partnership. But every move Runanide made still included something about blasting Cue if it looked like she was going to betray him.

But let's all take this moment to appreciate Ron's incredibly un-Paranoid move of just openly confessing his mutant status and treasonous actions as opposed to simply slaughtering Ripp on the spot and consuming the evidence. Which is what I would have done.

FWIW, next time I run one of these, I'm considering not sending you the post you die in, and instead just sending a post that says, "You are dead."
In the original background info I sent, it mentions that you aren't supposed to remember the last few seconds or so before you die. So it's possible that if someone sneaks up on you, you wouldn't know it was them. But the way this game worked, everyone knew exactly how they died and used that information when they returned.
I don't know how it will pan out, but I think I'm going to try it. Up the paranoia factor.

You did say you wouldn't remember the 6 seconds before you die. So when I did finally die, I made sure I wasn't going to come out of the clone delivery unit just firing at Preach for no good reason. Of course, it didn't matter because I came out of the clone delivery unit into the debriefing room with the game already over...
But from a player perspective, it certainly would be a lot creepier if you had no idea who offed you.
