Try reinstalling itunes-- even if you're not using an iphone.

On my phone or on my computer? I did both.

But then I went back to my Pocket Cast app, and it's still not there.

Should I try deleting my cache?

That's probably not going to do anything because of the indexing on your OS. Have you tried turning off the computer, manually removing the harddrive, leaving it out for 10 seconds, then reinstall it and boot up your computer? If that doesn't work, do the same thing, but when you reboot it, do it in safe mode. Once in safe mode, scan your disk for errors and tell it to correct problems automatically. Then sync your phone with iTunes. That will fix it for sure.

If that doesn't work, remove the hard drive and pass it over a powerful magnet, then put it back in again and try Kyle's directions.

Okay, I tried all of that. And now my laptop screen only shows black, and when I check Pocket Casts on my phone, there's still no new episode.

Hmm. It sounds like you may be getting interference on your wifi. I know this will sound strange, but do perchance have a Ham Radio in your house?

Holy shit! YES! Do you think that could be doing it?

[Kyle]

No, but it can fix it. Make sure your computer, modem and router are all powered off. Turn on your ham radio. Turn the band to 222 mHz, the output frequency to 223.97 and the offset to -1.6 mHz. As your initial transmission, say, "QPR [Your Ham License] muskrat dingo charlie. Niner, niner, fiver. Xray flapjack portnoy. Stand by." Then go power your computer, modem and router on IN THAT ORDER. Go back to your ham radio and listen. Within 12 minutes you should hear the following confirmation: "Falcon received. Flapjack dingo steamer." Wait another three minutes. At that time a high pitched oscillation will begin transmitting. Let this continue transmitting overnight. In the morning everything should be working properly.

OK, wow. That was surprising. I did exactly what you said, but the ham radio is up in the attic, so by the time I got everything turned on (in the correct order), I ran back upstairs, and I thought I could hear someone talking, but I don't know what they said. The last word could have been "steamer." So I was going move the radio downstairs and try again, but that high-pitched oscillation started almost immediately. I don't think I had to wait even 12 seconds, much less 12 minutes. I figure if it's working, I don't want to turn it off in the middle of a process and risking frying something. So I'm going to leave it until the morning.

It's driving the guinea pig crazy and my wife keeps telling Kyle is stupid and I should shut it off, but it's just for one night. And it IS in the attic, so it could really be a lot worse.
