Michael Douglas' Biggest Movies AfI
Michael Douglas' Biggest Movies AfI
The Adjusted for Inflation Bureau is stolen from poorpete (who first had the idea to make this a game here), who stole it from Doug Benson at Doug Loves Movies (which everyone should be listening to) who stole it from Sirius XM Radio host Ron Bennington (who is a great guest on DLM). Here's the rules:
1- Post up with a movie of Michael Douglas that you think has the highest domestic box office gross adjusted for inflation. Thus, even though the new Star Wars movie is the highest grossing domestic earner, if we adjust for inflation, the title actually goes to Gone With the Wind.
2- Cameos are included, if they are listed for the actor on boxofficemojo. Boxofficemojo is notoriously spotty for what it does and doesn't list as a cameo- so guess a cameo at your own risk. If boxofficemojo hasn't listed it- you will not receive any points.
3- After you make a post- you can only guess again AFTER I HAVE TOLD YOU IF YOU ARE RIGHT AND HAVE AWARDED POINTS. Thus, if you make a guess- please don't guess again until I've acknowledged your guess.
4- Your guess must be done off the top of your head. No research. No googling. No referring to Imdb. Obviously, no referring to Box Office Mojo. Just use your brain.
5- This game is on the honor's system. But if you cheat, please understand that you're just ruining the game for everyone. There's nothing at stake. We're just all trying to have fun.
6- Points are awarded only for the top 20 movies of the actor, in reverse order of their place on the list. Thus, 1 point for the 20th movie. 20 points for the top movie. 5 points will be awarded to the person who guessed the lowest ranked movie of all the guesses. 10 points will be awarded if a person guesses the lowest ranked movie.
I will try to periodically update this first post with all the guesses, points awarded and standings.
MOVIES:
1- Fatal Attraction
2- Basic Instinct
3- Romancing the Stone
4- Traffic
5- Ant-Man
6- War of the Roses

Re: Michael Douglas' Biggest Movies AfI
Boxofficemojo lists 36 titles for Michael Douglas with no cameos.
Coma- a movie he was in, does not have any box office information on BOM. So don't guess Coma. If you guess Coma, you will get zero points.

War of the Roses
And might I add that I'm surprised that he only has 36 titles... and no cameos... He's had a long career for that few movies. I guess he's pickier than most... And I'm almost surprised that Fatal Attraction is higher than Basic instinct, but I knew they were going to be 1 and 2... (just wasn't quick enough)

Wasn't a hit, so maybe I'll get worst guess points, but it's his best performance: Wonder Boys!
