I was going to start in a couple weeks. Maybe after Hero Battle wraps.

Re: Die Hard Play by Post Game
Okay, I'm going to try to rewatch Die Hard this weekend. Gameplay is expected to start a week from next Monday. So not next week, but the week after. If you haven't yet, try to rewatch the movie-- but again, it's not necessary.

Post it here. Post only public information, though. Not private stuff that others don't know.

Re: Die Hard Play by Post Game
I may need help tweaking this, but I have an idea of how I want to play this character. any input would be appreciated.
I will play Jim Scarrow, a 31 year old male, with a height of 5’10” and a climber’s body. He graduated from College with a Masters in Accounting. He doesn’t hate his job, as much as he just hates being around people. He has been bugging the “higher-ups” to allow him to start working from home. They keep refusing, which only fuels his resentment. He only came to the Christmas party to try and persuade them to let him do as he asks.

Re: Die Hard Play by Post Game
I like it- but working from home wasn't really a thing in the 80s. Instead, how about he wants to work at a satellite office in Des Moines (or some other small town) and teleconference with clients (which is what he does from his office now anyways) from there.

Re: Die Hard Play by Post Game
Do we need to have any stats for the characters? If so how should w be generating them?

Yeah- stat yourself for the main 6- Strength, Dex, Int, Wis, Con, Charisma. You can have 59 points to distribute between the stats.
You will be allowed to give yourself three office-related skills (nothing physical like fighting or that stuff). Two you can have at a +5 and one at a +3- make them as specific as you want.
Also assign yourself two skills that you're terrible at: both at -3.

Don Levinson

Don Levinson is the Vice President of Local Operations for California of the Nakatomi Corporation (a position that today would be referred to as Chief Operating Officer or somesuch). "For California" is a bit of an exaggeration as Nakatomi's California operations extend no further than the Nakatomi Plaza. He is third or perhaps fourth in the chain of command behind CEO Joseph Takagi, as well as the Vice President of Finance and (sometimes) the Vice President of International Operations.
Don is viewed by the people under him as stern and humorless. He is not known for being forgiving or understanding. He is extremely knowledgeable about Nakatomi operations, but if he has any interests outside of that, he has never let on. Half the people here see him as stern but fair. But people who've been on the receiving end of his corrections or reprimands often talk about him as a pompous tyrant. The only thing agreed upon is that no one relishes the idea of crossing him. Don is universally avoided if at all possible.
Don's wife Norma died over a year ago after a protracted illness. People think that he has children (and grandchildren?), but the rumor is that they are estranged from him, because he never talks about them and there are no pictures of his family anywhere in his office. In fact, the only personal pictures he keeps are of two cats, and the joke is that those are just photos that came with the frames.
He is somewhere around 60 years old, thin and wiry, with salt-and-pepper hair showing far more gray than black. His suits all seem slightly too large, and he wears them with pastel colored shirts that always look a few years out of date.

Makoto Tsukimura recently transferred to the LA office from Tokyo. He is in his late twenties and has a bachelors degree in accounting and a minor in computer science from Tokyo University, having graduated with honors. He competed on national championship winning Kendo teams at both the high school and university level. His gold medal from his senior year of college, when his team won the championship, is in a frame on his desk. He also has an MBA from UCLA. He lived in California for three years while studying here, then moved back to Tokyo and began working for the Nakatomi Corporation in the Tokyo office.
However, after a little over a year in that office he was transferred to LA. Since arriving at the LA office, he has mostly kept to himself and has a bit of a reputation for being stand-offish, though very efficient. The rumor mill has uncovered that he is related to Hideki Tsukimura, one of upper level executives from the Tokyo office. It isn't certain what their relationship is, but many people suspect that he is his son. There was a rumor of a threatened lawsuit for wrongful termination against the Tokyo office not too long after Makoto was transferred, but no lawsuit was ever filed. The rumor was enough to make people wonder if there was a scandal involving Makoto that lead to his being transferred to this office.
He is officially part of the accounting department at Nakatomi Corporation as an assistant manager in the accounts payable division for international vendors, which is a fancy way of saying he is an accountant that keeps track of what the company pays people for what the they buy from them. Someday, when the "assistant" is removed, he may actually manage someone, if he can improve his people skills enough to manage it. However the computer support division found out about his background in computer programming and consulted with him on some problems shortly after he arrived in LA. Since then, they have brought problem cases to him on a regular basis and he has quietly accepted the extra work, frequently staying late to work on a computer in order to get it working for a coworker before they get in the next morning. Only the people in the offices close to his and the computer support staff know he does this since he doesn't socialize with many people in the office.
Rather short and slight of build, Makoto is only 5'5" tall and couldn't weigh more than 120 lbs. He has short, dark, reddish-brown, straight hair; hazel eyes; and a rather light complexion. One of his coworkers, with a little less tact than most, asked why his skin tone was so pale compared to the other Japanese people they had met and he said it was likely because his great-great-grandfather was a Dutch ship captain who was one of the people allowed to trade with Japan during the Edo period, but also because he is sensitive to sunlight and has many allergies, so he spends most of his time indoors. Those who have offices near him know that during this past Autumn, he was suffering from allergies almost constantly. Most of them think his high pitched sneeze is either annoying as hell or kind of cute.

Cynthia Sinclair is a relatively new employee at Nakatomi: she just graduated from Standford at the beginning of summer with her bachelors degree in international business, and started her job at Nakatomi in August. She hopes to work for a couple years, get some experience and earn some money, then go back to school to get her MBA.
Cynthia is from a farming family in Iowa. The only reason she was able to afford attending Stanford was because they offered her a generous athletic scholarship to play volleyball. Even with the scholarship, she still had to work part-time in the dining hall on campus in order to get through school without any student loans. Standing 5' 8" tall, Cynthia is very attractive, although she tries to downplay her looks (to a certain extent), since she wants to be taken seriously for her abilities and knowledge rather than her looks: she typically wears glasses instead of her contacts, wears attire that looks professional but not revealing. And she has been trying to adhere to the principal of not dating anyone from the office. But despite her best efforts, she has had to fend off the advances of numerous male colleagues, including several of the office managers.
Cynthia currently works as an analyst in the sales & marketing department.

Tahlvin- your positive skills have to be office-related. Not to say you can't have great acrobatic skills- you certainly can and we'll tackle that when we get in to the game. But for the initial character generation, it needs to be limited to office-skills.
