Elections are built up like wrestling PPV these days with even mid terms being promoted as as end of the world event.
Only things i really care about is getting the gas tax repealed and making sure egg prices stay reasonable.
What's going on in your neck of the woods?

I'm unfriending, banning and blocking anyone who wants to try and shame me for not voting. There's that.
Motherfuckers, "don't get mauled by a bear" was a legitimate worry on my list today. Stop asking like I didn't want to vote because i was playing xbox and getting high.

For me, a big part of it wasn't really the philosophical part. It's two part: one, I'm poor. it's been a rough year, financially, and missing a week of work for voting isn't a luxury I have. I know, it's weird, but some people really are poor and life is a daily struggle of: "will I be able to avoid being homeless?". Part two: I'm not sure the "other side" has learned anything. I still get the same condescending bullshit, which is funny, because I generally am on their side. But I'm not really sure they think I'm "on their side", and they don't appear to be too welcoming.

It's a sad fact that voting in the US is largely a luxury for people with stable lives and employment and the demographics always reflect that. I won't shame you BF.

know what really pisses me off? All this "every vote matters" shit, and... well, North Carolina had republicans win just over half the votes in this state. And 10 out of FUCKING THIRTEEN CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS WENT TO THEM!
Goddammit, we're so Gerrymandered, it really didn't matter. All the Democrat votes are pushed into 3 districts, and the state's representation is dominated by the GOP.

Move to Wyoming and North Dakota. Eventually the low-lying coastal folks will have no houses, so it will self-correct.
