On some level I don't even want to know if this is CNN mischaracterizing the results of a more cautious and limited report.

I kind of hope it was some sort of space Ark that, without us knowing it, grabbed two good examples of all the species, including the two most good and innocent people alive who were plucked from some kind of bomb aftermath or famine or torture chamber and will now live forever under better circumstances. They will repopulate an entire species like Adam and Eve which will then create artificial intelligences that get out of hand and then they and their Cylons will race toward earth someday.
