Pdyx just lent me his graphic novel that collects the original 1991 Infinity Gauntlet series. It was all right.
But here's the thing about the comic and the movie- everyone's trying to remove that glove... and they ALMOST get away with it.
Here's an idea, Thanos: make the glove unremoveable. THAT'S THE FIRST THING YOU NEED TO DO WHEN YOU CAN FORM REALITY TO WHATEVER YOU WANT. Just snap your fingers and make it so the glove is permanently attached to your hand. Better yet? How about you change reality so you don't need the glove at all anymore-- I GET IT: you needed the glove to wield the power of the infinity stones in the first place, but once you're wielding that power, change reality so you don't need to use the glove anymore. Maybe the stones reside in your head now and are usable only by you ever. Maybe you get rid of the stones completely and say that their power now resides in your soul or consciousness. Just get rid of the glove, dude!

Re: The Infinity Gauntlet
I think the gauntlet is special, not just a random piece of grab used to hold the gems.
I enjoy that story, my standout moments.
-Thing and Wolverine having a moment discussing how they are the monsters in a group of capes
-Captain America making a bold stand before he gets his neck broken by a single Thanos backhand
-Dr.Doom claiming the gauntlet in a classic firefly "cure your inevitable betrayal" moment and flash frying himself

Re: The Infinity Gauntlet
I'm excited to read this. Unfortunately, I've been reading Marvel's back catalog chronologically, and I'm finishing up 1972 this week. I'll have a ways to go before this happens.
I wonder if there's some sort of cosmic mumbo jump surrounding the Infinity Gems and the Gauntlet, kind of in the same vein as no wishing for extra wishes?

Oh and I also love the origins of the gems from the comics, the idea that God was so sick of the universe that he killed himself and put his power into the gems, wild stuff.
