became only the third woman since 1950 to record a win in a men's professional baseball game. She did it in commanding fashion, pitching 7 innings in a 16-1 victory.
Sounds like she's good.

Yay! She is or was pitching for the women's national baseball team. Her fastball is apparently peak in the low 80s but she throws a lot of curveballs and whatnot and has great control, so she can compete against hitters used to more speed. I don't think you'll ever see women regularly pitching in professional baseball because it's just physiologically more difficult to throw those kinds of speeds, but at lower levels of play they can compete on the same level as men, and you would not even believe how many times I've heard it said they cannot. By "scientists" who have published actual studies claiming that the best female pitchers cannot throw overhand as fast as the average teenage male - not even the ones who are good at throwing! Umm, wrong!
