reports that Ursula K. LeGuin's Hugo and Nebula award winning masterpiece, The Left Hand of Darkness has been optioned by Critical Content as a "limited series", which I presume means "mini-series" in layman's terms. The deal was done by LeGuin's agents directly and she will evidently serve as a consulting producer on the project.

Good! I hope that means that they'll capture the message more than the visuals. That was the problem with the Earthsea adaptation. It had a wizard doing incredible things, but the point of the story was not the wizard doing incredible things. More it was a reflection of the Tao Te Ching, where Ged was doing what he must because he saw no other option. That, um, unless done very carefully, doesn't lend itself well to a commercial audience.
