Alas Eric Levitz is just stupid, because he wrote that article without realizing that there was already a super majority rule against raising any taxes, and that the new rule wouldn't affect payroll tax, so he lamely tried to cover for that by randomly speculating that it could. Basically none of this has any meaning.

However, due to voter suppression we now live in an even more failed democracy and our rating should fall even lower than the many other countries that are already rated ahead of us in terms of having a functioning democracy. Tragic.
