Your purpose in life?

What do you think your ultimate purpose in life is? What do you strive for?

I don't think there's a right or wrong answer here. Some people want to just turn invisible and watch Wes Anderson movies on repeat to ensure that they never experience another emotion for the rest of their lives. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Others of us want to fly... because we're sane people.

Biologically? My purpose was to procreate and pass on my genetic material, ensuring the continuation (and improvement ) of the species.

Philosophically/spiritually, my purpose is to try to leave the world a better place then when I got here. But thanks to the Trump candidacy, that's pretty much hopeless. So my purpose becomes to minimize the damage caused. And to raise my offspring to similarly improve the world, each in their own unique way.

Practically, my current purpose is to try to balance work and life during a period of time, of unknown length, when the stars have aligned and my earning potential seems to be at a peak, in order to best prepare myself and my wife to live our retirement years in comfort, and still be able to leave a legacy to our children.

To live long enough that the growing generation of my family (nieces and nephews) are old enough that if one of my sisters would die, I could in theory step in (I totally, totally couldn't). To also live long enough that circumstances for my aging parents have likely been settled. That's about another 14 years. After that, very little.
