So DMDarcs, when I win the PowerBall jackpot on Saturday, how much would you want for a salary in order to be my full-time, professional game master? Are you willing to relocate? Sarahbeth, are you willing to be a full- or part-time professional RPG player? What about the rest of the Runelords crew? What would be your going rate to be a professional gamer?

I don't wanna but I would put in serious volunteer hours in exchange for good snacks.

I would be pretty cheap... But you do have to buy a ticket. Did you remember that part?

45,000 a year (adjusting for cost of living increases and inflation), covering an insurance plan of my choice, plus performance bonuses decided upon by the players, and a $2,000 signing bonus to facilitate home office upgrades. If a continuous group is the norm, then a player review would determine any possible merit raises. If a particular adventure series or supplemental book is needed, costs are split 50/50 between the group and the GM. Extra fees would be negotiated to run in person, and additional fees would be required for running convention games. 4 games a week would be my maximum, 3 to 4 hours sessions (with any combination available of multiple sessions for one campaign or multiple campaigns). I reserve the right to not run particular game systems or styles of games, but remain committed to open dialogue on this. I'd also do my best to accommodate more video/audio usage, but would note that texting based gaming is my most polished version.
While I realize I wasn't the target of this thread...I've thought about this WAY TOO MUCH. So I figured I would share.

I'll do it for less but your quality is going to take a small hit.

I don't play the lottery but this gives me pause.

Sorry, I didn't win the jackpot. Guess I'll just have to go without a professional GM for now, and continue earning my millions the old fashioned way: by exploiting the working man! That, or hard work, frugal living, and smart investments. Either one.

I didn't even know this was a post until today. I almost never come to the Babble.
