The last of our cats just died. I was eating lunch when the cat acted like it was going to throw up (not an abnormal occurrence). I picked it up to get it off the furniture and onto the hardwood floor (also not unusual, as it's easier to cleanup the vomit), and the cat started having a seizure and died right in my hands. It's last act was peeing on my pants.
So Hermione now joins her sisters Scout and Strawberry, which have also died within the past year (they were all biological sisters from the same litter). At least it was a nice and quick death, without a prolonged period of pain and suffering. And we can finally get nice furniture without worrying about the cats clawing the hell out of it.
