Then why is it still three for $2? Hmmm? By August 5 we should be firmly into five for a dollar territory with the BEST kind of two-tone yellow and white sweet corn.

I'm amazed. Our corn has been huge and juicy and super-sweet.

Stop keeping all that damn corn to yourself and release the trucks to come here! Seriously do I have to drive out into a field somewhere? My situation is the same as Stans. I'm eating corn chex as comfort food when I could easily gain 10 lb in 2 weeks if I had enough sweet corn. I have that good Irish butter too.

We both lie silently still
In the dead of the night
Although we both lie close together
We feel miles apart inside
Was it something I said or something I did
Did the words not come out right
Though I tried not to hurt you
Though I tried
But I guess that's why they say
Every rose has its thorn
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn

I am SO going to start doing this. Honestly, when I first read it, I was trying to place it and couldn't. But it kept rolling around my head, so when it finally came to me, I was overjoyed.

Don't go for second best baby
Put your love to the test
You know, you know, you've got to
Make him express how he feels
And maybe then you'll know your love is real

Sorry I'm posting a little later than usual. I took my Saturday morning half-marathon run at a leisurely pace this morning. Here you go:
Baby, pick your head up, (head up)
come on and look me in the face,
'cause I can tell that something is bringin' you down.
(Why are you down?)
Is it the rumor that another boy wants to take your place?
(I hear he's after your heart.)
Have you been hearin' the stories?
They're goin' around.
(All of my friends are talkin'.)
Baby, just remember I gave you my heart,
ain't no-one gonna tear us apart.
He can promise the moon and the stars above,
even if he promised me the world;

Can you run 13.1 miles and still call it 'leisurely'?
