And to complete the story, the dogs were spooked by the crowd and ran in the wrong direction. In order to get them turned around, the guy had to run them a quarter mile away from the audience, over a hill, and out of sight.
We all left. After more than a half-hour of him droning on, followed by 15 minutes of getting the dogs in harnesses, because apparently there was no way the other four people could have gotten harnesses taken care of while he was talking, all we got to see of the dogs was their furry little asses as they ran away from us. We could have waited around for them to come back and watch them run by us once, but we were just glad to get the hell out.
An hour of my life... WASTED!

Sorry, power was out to a large section of town this morning, including our house. I'm posting now (and doing my work) via the hotspot on my cell phone. No bad weather, doesn't seem to have been an accident or anything like that, just a blown transformer or something. Feel sorry for the police officers who are going to need to direct traffic at a busy intersection during rush hour.
