And as for Pokemon GO, maybe I'm getting to be too old, but c'mon people! A 7 car accident in Massachusetts because some asshat stops his car in the middle of the road to throw balls at Pikachu?! And the driver of one of the other cars in the accident was also playing the game while driving! And teens in Missouri using the game to lure people to a secluded area and rob them?! My 16 y/o daughter plays the game, but she's said she's seen middle aged bald guys walking around playing the game as well. And the past few mornings, while I'm walking the dog at 3:30-4:00 A-fricking-M, there have been small packs of teenage boys roaming around town at a time when it's usually just morning people like me. Go back to bed so I can enjoy my walk without my dog freaking out about teenage boys walking down the middle of a dark street!

Every day we see people doing this everywhere we go. Speaking of monetizing, they basically monetized Ingress with this game. The Pokemon game works off that basic skeleton. It's genius and I'm happy for them, but based on Ingress they had to know what some of the social problems created might be. People are going to play while driving, unless you set the speed limit for movements wayyyy lower, and people are going to fight over the game. On the other hand, never seen so many kids out running around the neighborhood getting exercise before....

On the other hand, it's going to significantly increase the interactions between those kids and some truly weird adults. And when I say truly weird, I mean batshit crazy weird.

And yes, good for kids getting exercise. But they had to know about some of the problems this would cause, from driving to using it to aid in committing crimes. It seems only a matter of time before they are subject to lawsuits for some of this stuff.
