[GB] Hades

Hades is not playable. He is a "spoiler" who amps up the game and adds confusion.

Hades would be an awesome stretch goal in Kickstarter.

The trick is to have stuff that is in Hades wheelhouse that shakes up the game. It shouldn't make the game harder necessarily... just trickier, and in some cases makes it easier for heroes to score.

The only Hades effects I have thought of so far...

Extra Ball! (Inspired by other discussion), there can actually be more than 1 of these. Maybe literally an extra ball that sticks around til the end of the game. A demon ball that latches onto your hand. You lose 1HP every turn you carry it, but all Grabs and Force Fumbles against you are +1HP. Ball disappears after one goal. A ghost ball that lets you more easily move through others. Disappears after one goal. Stuff like that.

Scorched terrain. A new terrain type that is no one's favored terrain. Each player gets one or two of these to place on the board.

None of this is urgent, of course. We've got plenty to do before Hades, but if anyone has thoughts, let's save them and debate them here until we need them.

All players get a token by which they will assign to curses or blessings to make it cheaper or expensive.

Nullify GP for a round.

Double GP play for a round (oh man, imagine Trojan Wars on this one...all hands would clear!)

Refresh all heroes to 8 HP for a round.

All Heroes lose/gain.

Certain action-region of hero boards gets boosted or impeded.

Next score worth double

Return godball to center

The nicer ones can be Pesephone's influence.

The River Styx. Players in turn add Styx tokens to the board starting on one side (1st player's choice) and adding a new token in the next ring adjacent to the last token.

Any player that enters a hex with the River Styx must discard a God Power from their hand.

"Luck of the Draw" -- Take the in play Godball token and remove it from play. Instead, have one player shuffle two Hades Godball tokens without looking at them. Return one, Godball side up, to the last location of the Godball and the other, Godball side up to Mt. Olympus.

Hades Godball tokens look identical on the Godball side, and have a 1 and a 0 on the back. If you score a point with one of the two Godballs, flip it over. If it is a 0 you score no points, take it, shuffle it with the other token, and repeat as before. If it is a 1, score a point as normal and remove the 0 token from play.

Or something like this.
