What's up with the fluctuation of site users that goes anywhere from about 15 to 115 at a given moment lately? This is a new phenomenon, usually we only have single digits so I wonder if it's robots or what?

My guess is spambots, mostly.

I don't know exactly when this happened but at some point recently I noticed it had just taken a huge uptick. I click on the PHBHBB (y'all getting a new insight into my name eh?) link or whatever it is on a regular basis by accident, and that's usually when I notice the number of users. So then I started looking at it and sometimes it's a hundred, or 38, or some other crazy number that definitely implies more bots than usual. In the past we would have like two users and one bot or something, from Bing. Curious that there would be such an upswing.

It's so weird, just a moment ago we had eight users and now we have 80. So many robots ... it's like insects proliferating.
