Re: The value of forgiveness

One of my favorite things from Goethe is "And if I love you, what business is that of yours?"

I think forgiveness is a similar grace. Mutuality amplifies it, but it doesn't ask permission, and if sincere (a big if) it has a powerful and positive influence on the active party.

Re: Entering Runeforge

Without exception, I think Hal has the most advantaged saves. A charisma boost would enhance that further, so I suggest Kay gets the cloak. I got lost on the math as far as the net gain with the celestial armor, but let's keep it in mind. I found going with the celestial plate, even though it took a...

Re: Entering Runeforge

rather than upgrade snakeskin, is there a totally different armor that would give you the benefits you're looking for? Once you get into upgrades, the expense makes it worth just figuring out best fit for your character and going for it. The same question might be put to Eldthor. There might be bett...

Yes, it's partly outreach for the arts council. There are other, more charming, people going. I'm sort of the security detail.

Re: Calendar (Summer/Fall 2017)

Hey all, not certain of the 28th, perhaps in transit from Maryland. That makes next date the 11th when I might still be in transit from Cape Town, I'll know better when closer whether I can sneak in under the line or whether they will be near misses.

Re: Entering Runeforge

Hal's defense AC 35 (after Darkwood +3 shield) Celestial Plate (Nice fly feature, but also illusion of lighter armor, which lets me take my whole dex. I was also worried about eventually not drawing attacks if they thought they couldn't hit. I'm radiating good, and wading into the melee, and I don't...

Re: Entering Runeforge

The belt would bring Hal's strength to 24 (+7) I was just catching up on the stuff I was in and out for or missed entirely. Who took the ink and pen from the scribble guy, and was there anything cool to it? If it's scroll making , we could use some of the travel time for writing them. (I think Sam a...

Re: Entering Runeforge

Hal would be interested in the shield (an upgrade of 1, plus lighter) and the cloak if nobody else wants it. We should also check to see if the belt is just saleable or an upgrade for anyone. Hal has a +2 right now, not sure what Dwyn or everyone else has. I'm guessing strength because of the carvin...

Re: Freedom of Speech

Interesting to note that the most frequent users of the "politically correct" slam are the most sensitive snowflakes. Ok for them and their minions to berate or threaten, but they cry "lawsuit!" at the slightest scratch.

I know very little, but I know Thomas is a liar. Anybody who has a mustache and drinks out of cans has had it happen, and to lie about it was a huge tell.

Nifty tools. Nerf. New books, old films. Old books, new films. Nifty but subtle swag from a favorite game or show, ie, a witcher medallion.

Re: Introverts

Delegate low stakes tasks, then forget about them. They're low stakes, and if they don't happen or don't happen right, c'est la guerre. Breathe Cuddle and demand a bedtime story, then crash a little. Have someone else drive so you can either take a sec to sort stuff out or doze. Eat good food. If ne...

Either drink more, or arrange to spend one on one time with your kid(s). Cosplay works for some folks, which can be paired with the latter.

Re: How Awesome is Al Franken?

We live in hope. What I believe should have happened is that Franken should have served as the model for developing some due process. It's a legislature for crissakes, legislate. Decide when and if he should resign, and what the process and consequences need to be for others who did less, and others...

Re: Trump

It floated for W because of the shenanigans in Florida. It floated for Obama at Fox. Regardless of this, elections are a state matter, and despite being toadying cowards, neither congress, nor the executive, for that matter, can unilaterally suspend or cancel a presidential election. I think it's cl...
