Re: Gluttonous recap
A little uncertain about porting in and out of runeforge. Plane shift...nevertheless, sending is a great idea. We should ask questions about the phylactery...to confirm its destruction, the exit from here.....two more questions. I'm not happy about leaving the wrath folks behind. I think they'll eve...

Re: Important Links
That's great. We should go through our unallocated loot one more time to see if we're missing any upgrades. I think everyone has a ring +2, for example, but we should check....Still need to decide which melee person should read the book. I think hit percentages are about equal. Dwyn bypasses DR by s...

Re: Gluttonous recap
Concur, it might be just in the runeforge, but we've met a dozen golems...they're easy muscle for wizards, so I expect to keep meeting them. Hal's smite bypasses DR also, but I think that's only if they're evil. Don't know what Darcs decided on your prestige class, but both of us have expanded crit ...

Re: Gluttonous recap
Taking just another level of paladin seems anticlimactic...likeliest course of action however. Suggestions for feat welcome...thought about the one where Hal could get other class spells, like true shot, but nearly all of them (true shot included) take a round to cast and therefore delay engagement....
Re: Trump
Rant warning.... By the way, China is conducting plant experiments on the moon. Sanctions just removed for Russia, GB in total disarray (Northern Ireland, Scotland, get out while you can) The economies of every town where federal employees live are going to shudder like they're having a stroke any s...

Re: The Clown Car that is to come
Gillibrand has been working on her voice, so it's less painful to listen to her. Still has lots to learn. Bernie is too old, and didn't pull his weight when he had the chance... This is silly .It's too early to even have a program for this game. 2020 will be a panic election, which means tons of bad...
Re: Trump
This thread is pretty far afield, perhaps as a sign we think 45 isn't going to be in office and we're already talking about alternatives.
Prefer a new thread for the clown car that is to come.....

Re: Guns
In other news, 45 signs exec order banning bumpstocks, and we get crickets from normal defenders of 2nd Amendment. Not even upset with the lack of process. Weird. Not a fan of bumpstocks, but even less a fan of no process.
Re: Trump
I stand corrected on Afghanistan, my bad. I guess Putin does maybe want it back after all. At least he hinted at his irritation that we were still there "Putin added Thursday that it remains to be seen whether Trump will actually deliver on his withdrawal promise. "How long has the U.S. be...

Which means, if you use it on a person, well, at least the first time, it's gonna hurt
Re: Trump
Sorry, we won't be leaving Afghanistan any time soon; the russians don't want it anymore. ya know, no longer having the responsibility for being the ostensible leader of the world (with often dubious credentials, but at least pretense of ethics) in technology, in science, in human rights, maybe isn'...

Likely headed home from NYC at that time. Will try to make provisions for connection somehow
Re: HW, et al
W had one positive: he reversed the policy of not funding HIV research and other AIDs initiatives, especially in Africa.
Otherwise, second worst president so far.
Absolutely agree Re: Reagan. Treasonous like Nixon, that was just the beginning.

HW, et al
So, now that the solemnities are concluded, can we admit that HW Bush was a mediocre president with a long catalogue of malfeasance, and he looks great only by comparison? I understand hagiography at the moment of passing, but can we eventually set the record straight? This goes for all of them, fro...
Re: Trump
Secret Service protection has evolved from its original treasury functions. Congress has been expanding and specifying how protection is offered and to whom. Fundamentally, congress could decide to withdraw that protection as a response to felonious behavior. As a side note, though I'm getting ahead...

Re: Gluttony is Evil
No idea how to logically weigh those two values with the data we have. Hal sees three benefits to destroying the portal first: Watch our six - things come through portals. Not apparently live things, but it's some negative planar thing, so maybe bad dead things. Eliminate the negative aura - this is...
Re: Guns
Ya, I think we have general agreement on what baseline sensible means. I think we also agree that execution/enforcement is one of the places where a badly written or conceived law can be made a disaster, and where even good laws can be perverted. Fixing this is both huge and extremely challenging. T...

Re: untouched people groups
In concept, I agree. I was reminded of the Life of Brian quote.."what has the Roman Empire ever done for us, besides roads..." Having said that, I think it reflects a final dawning of awareness (marked perhaps by the making of "The Gods Must Be Crazy," that modernity can be damag...
