Re: Race Bait Distractions
Seriously, we've already seen what a world with British Hegemony, or a contest between British, French and Russian great powers looks like. It's not pretty. Why would we desire to go back there?

Re: Race Bait Distractions
Just as a reminder, there are two groups of people that Trump has yet to insult... White Supremacists Putin I will NEVER understand why people think its in the best interest of the country/world for Trump or any world leader to start taking personal shots at other global nuclear powers. oh no peopl...

Re: Government is Obsolete
First I want to make the distinction that I am referring to a State and it's government as one. Governing bodies which are not states(and there are those that exist) are not necessarily what I am talking about. In fact, I have very little problem with the recognition of an authority that I have volu...

Re: Race Bait Distractions
Is it possible that people could have different feelings on the appropriateness of protesting the national anthem that are disconnected to racism?

Re: Quantum Entanglement
oof. 10-20 year transit time for near stars pretty much means you need to get around 99% of C. And that's...questionable. 10% C seems... vaguely possible with what I think we can pull off the shelf in the next couple decades. And that still means something like 30 year transits to our closest stars.
Re: Trump
Lord help us, racists are beside the point, misogynists are beside the point. Until the analysts begin to dig into why, even when it's clear the superbowl winner cheated, they sell even more jerseys, we won't be able to figure out how to unravel it. There we start hitting on something that's a bit ...
Re: Trump
1980, Ronald Reagan took 14% of the black vote(10% of the voting population) and 37% of the hispanic vote(2%). 1984, Reagan taks 9% of the black vote(10%), and 34% of hispanic(3%). 1988, Bush Sr takes 11% and 30% of the same demographics. 1992, Bush takes 10% of black vote(8%), 25% of hispanic(2%) a...
Re: Trump
Trump has largely performed the same as every other Republican since 1984 among African Americans, Hispanics and Asians. The data for what you are claiming is empirical proven isn't there(Only Bush Sr. vs Mondale, Bob Dole vs Clinton and Bush Jr vs Kerry carried more african american votes, and Tru...

Re: Trump
It bears remembering that racism is a crime in our society. Sometimes it's legal, as in employment, but more often social. Calling someone a racist is accusing them of a severe infraction. Most people think of racism as the KKK, or avowed white supremacists. But the push to this academic understand...
Re: Trump
How exactly does the racial fear explanation explain higher rates of minorities voting for Trump than the previous republican candidate? It doesn't. It's not supposed to explain that. It's supposed to explain how a person who has made so many racist remarks and supported racist policies was neverth...

Re: Trump
As a friend once said before a bar brawl over a decade ago: "Call me a Nigger again, and I'm gonna show you how ignorant I can get".
You keep pushing the Racism narrative, and I ensure you, you will get more racists.
Re: Trump
Neither. It's because a large portion of his base is very motivated by their racist feelings, and he encourages and appeals to these feelings. It's not like this is new. Politicians on both sides have done it for years now, though in recent years far more with Rs and less with Ds. The new thing is ...
