I was going to post the same definition again just to be a smart ass BUT...

A solution that started out as a great idea for a band-aid to a larger problem that wasn't getting enough attention, and then ended up merely contributing to the larger problem while no real solution was put in place to solve it.

Maybe the best way to do it is to let the person who asks the question "who is..." / "what is...?" also answer that question, as if they were asking rhetorically and then gave the answer. Then you just have a back and forth between Q & A and there are no in-between "placeholder" posts. ???

A self-proclaimed wise man who gained enormous political influence by insinuating himself with the rulers.
