I'm so pissed off now because when I read these my brain automatically substitutes your stupid word for some other word in the song title and then it considers which way would be best. Unwanged melody? Unchained Wang? Well I think we solved that one, but I don't want to be solving this!!! Not my thing!!! Not my wang.

We are staying true to the Numberwang inspiration by running the bit into the ground. :-)

In this scenario which of us is Oscar winner Olivia Coleman on a trampoline?

Can't imagine someone going to the record shop saying get me the new Roger Williams! It's good, don't get me wrong, and I'm not happy we've been stuck with boomer tastes superseding everything else, pretend that music before their consciousness was worthless, but.... still kinda wild this is #4.

The oldest boomers would have been seven or eight in 1954. I would love to see a chart of their favorite music that year. I'd then be immediately bored by it, but it would be interesting to see.

And yes, I know what you meant, but I'm a pedantic ass.

Banger!!!

I have a great book of songs for piano from the mid 60s, pages falling apart and old cellophane tape meant to hold the pages together also falling apart and brown with age. This book features some of the great hits of Roger Williams, so I have these delightful memories of pounding out king of the road and also howling the lyrics to autumn leaves (I have never even as a child been able to sing in tune so one can imagine the horror). Never mind that's Roger Miller what the hell. And isn't the autumn leaves song Johnny Mercer? What is this life? I can't tell all these people apart from one another. Let's just call them all Roger Williams and be done.

I get tripped up on Roger Miller but enjoying you mixing Roger Williams and Mitch Miller to get there.

Here's the album that song is off of

Wikipedia says due to its listing as a fox trot, it's the most popular fox trot song of all time

It’s not called Trot Around the Clock.

I feel guilty about not getting one. I have this list:
Flu shot
Covid booster
Shingles shot
Colonoscopy

And as you see I have placed colonoscopy after the others and I'm not making any progress on the others these days either.

I'm caught up on all of them except the Covid booster, and my workplace offers them free on site, so I'll do that this week.

The shingles shots (there are two of them, spaced apart) sucks. I should hav taken a sick day after both of them.

Colonoscopy is invasive and inconvenient to schedule since you need a driver, but I have good insurance that fully covered it, and it wound up being a pleasant day off. Plus I now have an official doctor's report that says, "ain't nothing wrong with dat ass!" (I'm translating.)

All of them suck (except the flu shot... that one is nothing), but they're important for me.

Love Louis Armstrong's version of Skokiaan -- 2min 40sec that is reminiscent of his 1920s five and sevens combos -- and then 2min 20sec that is more like his later work -- love songs with long instrumentals to start.

It was a bit hard to actually find a version with Part 1 on it's own. I'm a bit fascinated with how songs that were meant to be continuous were split up. Here I wondered if the loud trumpet blast that starts part 2 is heard at the end of Part 1 -- and it does, just takes a fun pause.

I like how it says it's performed by Frank Weir "with his Saxophone, Chorus and Orchestra."

Daddy just listed his kids in order of favorite and it's pretty sad.

Hehe

That's Amore is great but been listening to 1948 and a big hit was Doris Day's "It's Magic" and it feels like "That's Amore" is now a bit of a rip off...
